An award for aspiring women writers
Marion Eldridge was a Canberra short story writer, novelist, poet and teacher. The Marion Eldridge Award was established in 1998 after her death, to encourage aspiring women writers and assist them with their professional development. It attracts increasing numbers of high quality entries from around Australia.
The award is currently $1500, and the winner also receives publication opportunities and discounts to the Varuna writing retreat. The award runs on donations, and is administered by the National Foundation for Australian Women.
