The National LGBTI Health Alliance
LGBTI stands for Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual Transgender, Intersex and other sexuality, sex and gender diverse person. The National LGBTI Health Alliance is an organization that is composed of different groups all across Australia to provide health-related programs to people who belong to the LGBTI group. The members of this alliance can help sexuality, sex and gender diverse people with their health by promoting and supporting the national voice of the people who belongs to the LGBTI and by building a stronger capacity of members to work with and for people who are included in the LGBTI.
Gay and Lesbian Health Victoria
During July 2003 the health action plan of the gay and lesbian Victoria was launched. It created a Health resource unit for members of the LGBTI. During December 2003 the government of Victoria assigned this organization to the Australian Research Center in Sex, Health and Society, Women’s Health Victoria and the Victorian AIDS Council or Gay Men’s Health Centre. The government of Victoria funds this unit. The main goal of this unit is to promote the health and wellbeing of the people included in the GLBTI group. They can do this by training health organizations about the health of the members of GLBTI in Victoria, create health resources and communities for GLBTI members in Victoria, create an information clearinghouse for GLBTI people to research about their own health, and be a voice of the GLBTI members to the government. This way there will be development programs that will help enhance the health and wellness of the members of the GLBTI.

Their main goal is for the LGBTI members of Queensland to have the best health and well being enabling them to participate in the activities and lifestyle of different communities without prejudice and discrimination. They aim to give the right resources and programs for the members of the LGBTI in Queensland to develop them economically, socially, personally, and in the other dimensions of life. They can achieve this by promoting HIV prevention and sexual health and by training LGBTI members to be more aware and conscious of their health. Their main beneficiaries are the LGBTI community of Queensland. They believe that the members of the LGBTI have been experiencing stigma and discrimination for a long time already. These discriminations prejudice and stigma can affect their health negatively. This can affect them in a negative manner like depression, too much alcohol intake, and even suicide attempts. The main goal of this organization is to alleviate the LGBTI members from undergoing these experiences.
